Single Point/Buoy Mooring Ship Handling Training

This course is aimed for participants that are involved in handling very large crude carriers (VLCCs) & Ultra Large Crude Carriers (ULCCs) around SPM/SBM facilities.

Description

The aim of this course is to provide participants with comprehensive knowledge of all types of Single Point Mooring (SPM) and Single Buoy Mooring (SBM) arrangements, as recommended by the Oil Companies International Marine Forum (OCIMF). The training covers operational guidelines, best practices for mooring operations, and the essential onboard
equipment required to execute these procedures effectively. This course offers simulator training using various models and including various scenarios, and is aimed for participants that are involved in handling very large crude carriers (VLCCs) & Ultra Large Crude Carriers (ULCCs) around SPM/SBM facilities.

Course Structure

The Single Point/Buoy Mooring Simulation Training is a training programme divided in 2 modules. 

Module 1 - Theory (8 hours)

- Mooring equipment provided by the Terminal Operator
- Equipment provided by the ship owner
- Operational procedures
- Safety
- Pollution
- Support facilities for Single Point Moorings
- Site and Environmental Conditions

Module 2 – Simulator Exercises (16 hours)

- Approaching SBM – Simulation exercises
- Departing from an SBM – Simulation exercises
