Transport Malta Officer in Charge of Navigational Watch UNLIMITED CoC STCW Reg II/1

Course Aim:

To transfer the required knowledge, competence and skills to the course participants’, as stated in the STCW Convention. On successful completion of the course & oral examination, candidates will be able to work worldwide as a Deck Officer on Vessels of Unlimited tonnage.

Syllabus:

  • Function 1 – Navigation at Operational Level
  • Function 2 – Cargo Handling & Stowage at Operational Level
  • Function 3 – Controlling the Operation of the ship and care for the persons onboard at Operation Level

Supporting Knowledge:

  • Mathematics
  • Physical Science

STCW Ancillary Certificates Courses as required, can be completed at MaritimeMT as part of the course.

Entry Requirements

To be eligible to attend this course, students must fulfil the following requirements:

Cadets / Not-experienced Route

  • Be at least 16 years of age.
  • Medical Fitness Certificate for Service at Sea.
  • O'Level in Mathematics and Physics is required.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.

 

Experienced Seafarer Route

  • Hold a valid seafarers medical fitness certificate (IMO/ILO)
  • Hold a valid STCW Basic Safety Training Certificate
  • Hold a valid Watch Rating forming part of Navigational Watch Reg II/4
  • Hold a valid Efficient Deck Hand + Steering Certificate
  • Hold 36 months of approved sea going services of which at least six (6) months have been engaged in bridge watchkeeping duties
