              Description

              Course Name:

              Recreational Skipper

              Course Aim:

              This course is intended for persons who wish to operate a pleasure boat up to 24 metres in length when navigating outside Territorial waters up to 35Nm from the nearest safe haven for recreational purposes only, within the Mediterranean Sea.

              Duration: 6 days (Part-time) – Hybrid delivery.

              Schedule:

              • Monday to Wednesday: 1700hrs – 2000hrs (In-class @ MaritimeMT)
                • Survival Techniques, Search & Rescue, and MARPOL
              • Thursday & Friday: 1700hrs – 2000hrs (Online via MS Teams)
                • Theory & Technical Modules
              • Saturday: 0900hrs – 1700hrs (In-class @ MaritimeMT)
                • First Aid, Fire Fighting, and Oral Examination

              Course Fee: €400 per candidate.

              Course Structure

              Tuition will be given over 3 days on the following units:

              1. Passage Planning
              2. Personal Survival Techniques
              3. Search & Rescue
              4. Introduction to MARPOL
              5. Basic Engineering
              6. Practical Sessions

              Entry Requirements

              To be eligible to attend this course, students must fulfil the following requirements:

              • Be 18 years or older
              • Must have held a valid TM Nautical License or international equivalent for a minimum of 12 months
              • Must hold a valid VHF-SRC or GMDSS ROC/GOC
