Description

This course is designed for individuals seeking to embark on a career in the interior department of a superyacht. It features a four-unit Introduction Program crafted to cover the essential roles, tasks, and responsibilities of a junior interior crew member. No prior experience or formal qualifications are needed to enroll.

This course provides a solid introduction to a junior interior crew member by providing the relevant basic skills and awareness of the role and expectations.

What You Will Learn:

  • Introduction to Yachting & Yachting Life (Unit 23): Learn the ropes of the yachting sector, including life at sea, onboard hierarchy, professional etiquette, interacting with diverse cultures, and essential maritime health and safety. You will also get guidance on professional CV presentation and job search etiquette.
  • Basic Housekeeping & Laundry Services (Unit 32): Master the art of presenting and detailing guest cabins and bathrooms. You will learn how to clean and care for luxury fabrics and surfaces, along with professional laundry, ironing, and packing procedures.
  • Basic Food & Beverage Service (Unit 02): Discover the principles of guest service, from preparing mise en place and setting formal tables to executing various service styles like Plated, Silver, and Butler service. Food safety procedures are also covered.
  • Basic Wine, Bartending & Mixology (Unit 03): Explore the world of wines, grape varieties, and professional wine service. You will also learn the characteristics of main spirits and the techniques and tools required for cocktail making and bartending.

Prerequisites

  • Be 17 years or older
  • Hold a valid seafarers medical (IMO/ILO)
  • Proficient in the English Language. (Note: A UK Marlins English Language Test may be required by the Training Provider for students whose first language is not English.)
