Crewing Operator

The chosen candidate will be working closely with the crewing manager assisting with the recruitment and repatriation of seafarers engaged onboard fleet vessels managed by the company.

Crewing Operator duties include following:

• The screening, selection and engagement of seafarers.
• Ensuring that the seafarers engaged onboard managed vessels are qualified and medically fit as per the STCW and company requirements.
• Ensuring that all crew certificates are authentic.
• Ensuring that the officers engaged onboard hold a valid endorsement certificate issued by the vessels’ flag administration and coordinating such applications where necessary.
• Ensures that all legal and statutory issues related to seafarers and entry VISAs requirements are met.
• Arranging travel formalities for seafarers and coordinating boarding or repatriation of seafarers with vessel’s agents.
• Ensures that before joining and leaving the vessel, the seafarers documentation are in order and valid.
• Preparing and signing the seafarers employment agreements.
• Ensuring that essential instructions prior to the seafarer boarding the vessel are given.
• Coordinating medical treatments of seafarers ashore.
• Check and approve invoices/ disbursements related to crew.
• Checking and approving the Master General Accounts received by vessels’ masters an coordinating such payments with the accounts department.

Requirements:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Strong written communication skills in English.
• Well-organized with the ability to manage tasks efficiently.
• Motivation to learn and grow within the maritime industry.
• While a maritime background is an asset, it is not a requirement.
• Must speak both Maltese and English.
