To transfer the required knowledge, competence, and skills to the course participants’, as stated in the STCW Convention. On successful completion of the course & oral examination, candidates will be able to work worldwide as a Deck Officer on yachts less than 3000GT.

Entry Requirements:
Be at least 18 years of age
Hold a valid seafarers medical fitness certificate (IMO/ILO)
Hold a valid TM Master of Yachts 200 GT certificate or equivalent endorsed by Transport Malta such as RYA/IYT 200GT Offshore/Coastal/150Nm Certificate
Minimum requirements to be eligible for a certificate of competency as OOW on Yachts less than 3000GT:
Have accumulated either:
12 months of approved seagoing service on vessels not less than 15mtr in length or 80GT, as part of an approved training programme, whilst holding a Transport Malta Approved Training Record Book, including 6 months of watchkeeping duties
OR
Have at least 36 months of approved seagoing service on vessels not less than 15mtrs in length or 80GT (Not holding Training Record Book)
Have successfully completed the approved OOW-Y3000GT Training Programme, including passing the following examinations:
