Master on Yachts <3000GT STCW Reg II/2 - TM

On successful completion of the necessary course module/s, Pass of oral examination, and presentation of required sea service, candidates will be able to work as a Master on Yachts less than 3000GT - STCW Reg II/2.

Course Name:

Master on Yachts <3000GT STCW Reg II/2 - TM

Course Aim:

This course aims to give candidates the required training and knowledge as per the STCW, so as to be eligible to sit a TM Master (Yachts less than 3000GT) Oral Examination.

On successful  pass of the oral examination, and present the required sea service, candidates will be able to work as a Master on Yachts less than  3000GT – Unlimited Area, as per STCW Reg II/2.

Price & Duration:

The published price includes 100 hours of class-based and simulator training.

 

Entry Requirements

To be eligible to attend this course, students must hold one of the following:

  • A recognised Certificate of Competency as Chief Mate on yachts less than 3000GT (STCW Regulation II/2);

Or

  • A recognised Certificate of Competency as Mater on yachts less than 500GT (STCW Regulation II/2);

Or

  • A recognised Certificate of Competency attesting a higher capacity than those mentioned above.

As a minimum, the individual must have accumulated either:

  • A total of 24 months of approved seagoing service:
    24 months as OOW on vessels not less than 24 m LOA or 80GT in length whilst holding a Certificate of Competency as Officer in Charge on a Navigational Watch on yachts less than 3000GT or a higher qualification, of which, at least 3 months in the capacity of OOW on vessels over 500GT;

Or

  • A total of 15 months of approved seagoing service:
    12 months as Chief Mate on vessels not less than 24 m LOA or 80GT whilst holding a Certificate of Competency as Chief Mate on yachts less than 3000GT or as Master on yachts less than 500GT or a higher qualification; and 3 months in the capacity of OOW or Chief Mate on vessels over 500GT whilst holding a Certificate of Competency as Officer in Charge of a Navigational Watch on yachts less than 3000GT or higher;

Or

  • A total of 12 months of approved seagoing service:
    12 months as Chief Officer of vessels over 500GT whilst holding a Certificate of Competency as Chief Mate on yachts less than 3000GT or Master on yachts less than 500GT or a higher qualification;

Or

  • A total of 15 months of approver seagoing service:
    12 months as Master on yachts not less than 24m LOA or 80GT whilst holding a Certificate of Competency Master on yachts less than 500GT; and 3 months in the capacity of OOW or Chief Mate on vessels over 500GT, whilst holding a certificate as Officer in Charge of Navigational Watch on yachts less than 3000GT or higher.

N.B Candidates applying for CoC must have successfully passed the following examinations:

  • Marine Law
  • Oral Exam
