IMO OPRC Level 3 – Strategic Level This course is designed for all senior managers, administrators and senior officials who may be involved in determining preparedness and strategy in the response to an oil spill.

Learning Objectives
Delegates will gain an understanding of the measures to be taken to ensure preparedness to an oil spill including contingency planning, the development of an Incident Management System, response policies systems. They will gain an understanding of the complexities of oil spill management and consider the political and media pressures, the legal and financial implications, the issues of public and response personnel safety and the post-operational requirements including compensation.
The course is based on the new IMO OPRC Model Course - Level 3 – Strategic Level.
